The Fry affair

Sir: What has happened to the English lan- guage? Mr Randolph Churchill writes (12 April): . . the SPECTATOR and myself got the action struck out' and . . so far the SPECTA- TOR and myself have not been able . .

Myself has been a reader of the SPECTATOR for many years because it was written in good English and myself has often recommended it to foreign students as good reading. Now myself is forced to wonder if Sir Winston Churchill would not have said : 'This is a state of affairs up with which myself will not put.'
