Very few players of auction bridge in this country have

as yet adopted the American call of "nullos," in which the declarer aims not at winning but at losing tricks, as if he were playing for " misere " in solo whist. Those who would like to try it will find full instructions in Royal Auction Bridge, by Edmund Robertson (Horace Cox, 7s. 6d. net), which also gives a clear account of the latest English form of this fascinating game.
