Asians in Kenya

SIR,—In Patterns for Africa in your issue of December 12th, reference is made to only European and African, and white and black. May I ask where in the future racial. partnership in Kenya the Asian fits in ? It should be remembered that against the 30.000 Europeans in Kenya there are 90,500 Indians and 7,000 Goans. These 97,500 people. the majority of whom have never seen the Indian sub-continent, comprise, in the main, the shopkeeper, the mechanic, the builder and the clerk of the Colony. Just as the economy of the country is compelled to take them into account, so should any authoritative approach to the problems of Africa and those who look
