The Harmonic Union, the newly-formed society at Exeter Hall, had

a performance of The Messiah on Monday evening. Though on a smaller scale than the performances of the Sacred Harmonic Society, it was very good ; the band and chorus having been brought into satisfactory training by the conductor, Mr. Benedict. Mr. Sims Reeves, in the opening, Comfort ye," showed himself; at whatever interval, the only successor of Braham. We perceive that Eli/alt is announced for the next per- formance. This seems to be merely following in the track of the Sacred Harmonic Society, instead of entering upon the special course intimated in their prospectus, of producing works little known, and of introducing secular music, which the plan of the Sacred Harmonic Society does not allow.
