In the House of Commons on Tuesday Captain Loseby, the

National . Democratio member for - Bradford, called attention to what he.said was a conspiracy on the part of certain officials in the Ministry, of Munitions to conceal the details of some transactions from the Government auditors. He made out so strong a case and received so much support, especially from Mr. Acland, that Mr. Boner Law, hastened to agree to the appoint- ment of a speeial Committee of Inquiry,- consisting of a judge, a business man, and a public .accountant. Mn Bonar Law seemed willing, but did not pledge himself, to give . the Com- mittee power to take ,evidence on oath, as it certainly ought_to do. Captain Loseby's charges were so serious and so circum- stantial that the Government were well advised in agreeing to a full investigation.
