The housewife's friend

Sir: Mary Kenny's listening habits (5 February) are very dull and I am sure they do not represent those of most full-time housewives. Never having recovered from the loss of Larry the Lamb at tea-time, a sense of betrayal led me to tune in to Jimmy Young, whom I had formerly despised as much as Mary Kenny despises cleaning the bath. His programme is, despite minor irritations, extremely topical and informative; his recipes are good, too.

May I add that I consider myself very lucky to have a home and take pride in looking after it, unlike Mary Kenny. If further proof of my 'madness' is needed, I also 'phone-in' when sufficiently stirred.
