We learn from a well-informed correspondent that King Francis II.

consulted those members of the corps diplomatique who waited upon him at Gaeta as to the expediency of continuing the defence of that place. The representatives of Austria, Russia, Prussia, Spain, Bavaria, and Portugal advised his Majesty to hold out ; but the Russian and Prussian ministers, after urging their opinion, immediately left the besieged town —Globe.
