- Gravesend. By Alex. J. Philip. (J. A. C. Branffil.

la. net.)— This is one of the "Homeland Handbooks," and well worthy of the, excellent series to which it belongs. Mr. G. M. Arnold, who is Mayor of the borough, has contrihnted the-chapter on the past history of the place, and Mr. Philip, who presides over the Gravesend Library, describes the town, what may be seen, and what may be done. All riverside places are interesting, and Gravesend is by no means an exception. The book is handy and cheap, and will be found a very useful guide.
