Cholera is spreading in the south of France, though not

very rapidly. It is said that there have been cases of Asiatic cholera at Lyons as well as at Arles, Nimes, and elsewhere in the south. At Marseilles and at Toulon the epidemic has declined in the last day or two in consequence of the cooler weather, but at Toulon it is still very bad. It is asserted that there have been a few authentic cases of Asiatic cholera in Paris, and this is probably true, though it is denied by the authorities. It seems likely that we shall see little of the cholera in England this season, even if it reaches us at all. But an epidemic which comes so near us as France in one year, is pretty sure to be heard of in London in the next.
