Glimpses into Nature's Secrets. By E. A. Martin. (Elliot Stock.)

—This is a small and thoroughly readable book about Nature and her secrets. The writer takes a variety of rambles over hill and dale and along the sea-shore, and chats pleasantly and apprecia- tively, without oppressing us with weighty science or boring us with prolixity. At the same time, he manages to convey a con- siderable quantity of information about animals, flowers, and stones, and the lessons they teach.
