Again, in the Times of Wednesday Dr. Leonard Hill says

:- "It is estimated that with the present use of raw Goal 90 to 95 per cent. of the thermal energy is wasted,. By carbonisation, use of gas and poke, and saving ot by-products the waste oonld be reduced to 70 to 76 per cent. By soientifio control, then, the coal supply can be ma4 three to Ave times as abundant and plenty left for exporli. The nation should tackle this problem as it tackled the war, and instal gas and electric stations and provide appliances as it provided guns and shells."

We heartily agree. The Government ought to give a lead at once.
