CIVIL LIBERTIES

SIR,—A civil liberty body, by virtue of the fact that it must be opposed to all forms of discrimination in the area covered by its terms of reference, cannot itself make political tests.

I do not personally know whether Pharos is correct and, even if I did know, I should be precluded from, commenting on his statement. Within the limit of our means we endeavour to take up all civil liberty issues and we are content to be judged by our work. —Yours faithfully, 46 Wesibourne Grove, W2
