We deeply regret to record the death of Lieutenant Warneford,

V.C., who met with a fatal accident in a flying ground near Paris on Thursday, June 17th. He was making a trial trip in a Henry Farman biplane with Mr. Beach

Needham, and had only been in the air five minutes when the accident took place.. The pluck and skill with which Lieu- tenant Warneford destroyed the Zeppelin and won his well- merited V.C., and the pathos of the fact that he died, not in action, but in an ordinary flight, have greatly touched the public mind.
