We have written elsewhere on the whole subject of the

engineers' strike, which is now practically ended, and need say here only that the unofficial leaders of the strike failed to persuade the Government to receive their deputation except in company with the men's accredited leaders. The Minister. of Munitions listened readily to the Executive Council of the Amalgamated Society of Engineers last Saturday, and-the unofficial leaders left the A.S.E. iapossession of the field to settle terms. On Wednesday the eight unofficial strike leaders who bad been arrested:were released, having signed an Undertaking to abide by the agreeMent between the Ministry of Monitions and the A.S.E. Executive.
