SING A SONG OF STATESMEN.

SING a song of statesmen,

A pocket full of power,

Half a thousand new Lords Baked in an hour !

When the House was opened The Lords began to rat; Wasn't that a pretty game To catch a statesman at !

Pat was in the pigsty Counting out his money, Taffy was at Litnehouse Breathing milk and honey : The Leader, in the Throne roots,

Was down upon his knees,—

By came a mocking-bird And stole his guarantees !
