Mr Guy Taite Shoosmith, of Gang- bridge House, St Mary Bourne, Hants., late mechanical engineer, who intro- duced barges with no rivets and tugs with no funnels to the river Thames, died on July 20th last, aged 86, leaving estate valued at £1,503,809 gross, £1,484,555 net.

Mr Ernest Freeman Johnson, of 73 Kingston House East, Princes Gate, London SW7, who died on May 31st last, left estate valued at £876,233 gross, £806,296 net. He left £24,000 and effects to personal legatees, £2,500 to the Honourable Artillery Company, in memory of Acting Bombadier Freeman John Eglington, B. Battery, HAC, who died of wounds received in the First World War at the 2nd Battle of Gaza, £2,000 to St George's Hospital Medical School, London SW17, £1,000 to the Metropolitan Police Commissioners Fund, and the residue to the Army Benevolent Fund.
