Currie a la carte

From Mr Claus von Bulow Sir: Rod Liddle (Thought for the day, 19 October) points out that a number of Muslim countries would have stoned Edwina Currie rather than reward her with 000.000 for blabbing about her adultery with a married man. But Britain is not poised to abandon its ancient liberties, including those of the Sun newspaper, in exchange for the Koran. The EU media, and those of France in particular, ignored Edwina's disloyal disclosures but went into a tabloid tantrum when she mentioned salmonella. They can tell the difference between a poule de luxe bavarde and an omelette baveuse.
