At Le Mans on Monday Mr. Wilbur Wright beat alT

previous performances in flying. Travelling with perfect regularity round the triangular course, which is two thousand metres long, he stayed in the air for one hour and thirty-one minutes, and covered sixty-six kilometre's. The Times corre- spondent says that he used only twenty-two of the fifty litres of petrol he had with him, and only two of the ten litres of water. He descended apparently because it was dark, other- wise it is estimated that there was no reason why he should not have flown for three and a half hours.
