Aguilar, a. young composer and pianist of great merit, gave

a con- certat the Hanover Square Rooms on Wednesday evening. He has been a pupil' of Mendelssohn, and has produced:several orchestral works which have attracted much attention in Germany. He'played Mozart's quintett for-the pianoforte and windinstrumente, and one of Mendelssohn's trios,

in pure and. classical style; and also several of his own studies, which are original and. masterly-
