Mr. Tidd Pratt writes to the Times to say that

the Farriers spent 63/. 10s. 3d. out of their Benefit Society's funds in attend- ing the Reform Demonstration. Ile consequently informed the officers that he should proceed against them unless they replaced the money, which they accordingly did. Quite proper of Mr. Pratt, only if the Farriers had agitated against Reform, would he have sent a copy of their accounts to the Times, or pointed out their liability to punishment with quite so much unction ? The Times, of course, draws the deduction that the men enjoyed their holiday at other people's expense, as if they had not given their day's earnings.
