One word of congratulation is due to Mr. Godfrey Nicholson,

who has achieved the rare feat of getting a Private Member's Bill through the House of Commons. This is a Bill to meet the point that injured miners lose their compensation if the colliery which employed them ceases working, and is a most valuable little measure. The House on the same Friday also gave a third reading to Sir Robert Gower's Bill to prevent cruelty to animals used for a " rodeo," and thus 'for once spent a" very useful Private Members' day.
