CLARE HOLLINGWORTH SIR,—May a reader of the Guardian as well

as of your own publication thank you for the appreciation of Clare Hollingworth in last week's issue? We Guardian readers are not unappreciative of the great courage and journalistic ability shown by Clare Hol- lingworth during her stay in tragic Algeria. I am not the only person who has written to the Guardian expressing deep appreciation of her services. Never was tribute more deserved. All too often the public tends to take its newspapers, like its coal, too much for granted.
