Backing Mister Lawson

MY racing adviser Captain Threadneedle has put me on to a horse called Mister Lawson. This spirited performer has won several races this season — though when at the Captain's suggestion I backed him to get me out of trouble at York, he appeared to feel that restraint was now called for, and finished out of the money. I was curious to know why Mister Lawson (de- scribed in Timeform as spare and unfurnished-looking) was so named. The Captain draws my attention to the breed- ing — by Blushing Scribe, out of Non- pareil.
