Sir: Peregrine Worsthorne is wrong when he says (Letters, 20

August) that we didn't offer to have the inner-city children who stayed last summer at Turville Vicarage to supper. We entertained them over two days to a barbecue and a good deal of swim- ming. They were quiet, extremely well- behaved and very entertaining. Alistair Home can be assured that, if he takes Pere- grine Worsthorne's excellent advice and doesn't oppose the scheme to provide holi- days in Turville, he will suffer no inconve- nience whatsoever.
