The holiday season is dramatically indicated at Paris by the pro- duction at the "irarietes of La Lanterne Magique, one of those revues that have its France the same chronological significance as the piuitomime in England. Three authors, MM. Clairville, L. Thiboust, and Delacour, have cooperated in its construction.

A new drame, Le Chateau des Ambrieres, written by MM. Barriere and Taillarde, has been produced at the Cirque. A villain, who has seduced a young lady of noble birth, murders the husband she subsequently marries, and takes advantage of his position to control her affairs during widowhood, is the central figure of the tale. He perishes by the hands of his victim's son ; and the frail fair one is about to commit suicide, but, fortunately, a branch, catching her petticoat, prevents her descent into the selected pond, and a quarter of an hour's suspense (in the phy- sical sense of the word) allows time for the arrival of assistance, and also for change of purpose.

M. Michelot, a veteran tragedian of the Theatre Francais, died at Passy on the 18th instant. He was born at Paris in 1786.
