• SIR,—Now that conscription is, or will soon be, the law in Great Britain, is it not an opportune time to abolish the totalitarian court martial, and' in its place set up military courts more in line with out present-thy ideas of democratic justice ; that is with right of trial by jury and appeal to the highest civil courts? Otherwise a young Britisher in time of peac...; when conscripted, is immediately deprived of his legal rights as a citizen.
