Mr. BALFE opens the English Opera on Saturday next, with

an effi- cient corps of vocalists, including Messrs. Wit.sox, H. l'arixies, STELE- TON, and BARKER; with Madame 11.t.trE as prima donna, and two debutantes, Miss Goyim and Miss E. Howann. There is to be a strong and well drilled chorus; and the orchestra will be filled by excellent in- strumentalists, BALFE himself presiding : the first performance will be an opera of his own, entitled Keolantbe. The undertaking promises fair : and our best wishes go with it, as an effort made in a generous .spirit to do something creditable for English art.
