Sul,—The Bishop of Bristol in his timely article asserts that

the com- munication and interpretation of the Christian faith in terms which speak to the conditions of industrial and professional life must in large measure he the work of men and women whose education and experience of life give them the right to speak. But does not this co-operation demand equal opportunity for both sexes ? Does the Bishop think it right that highly-qualified women (many of theria holding theological degrees or diplomas), who want fo offer themselves as links between the community and the Church, should find the office of Lay-reader still closed to them ? And if not, could he do something
