Blow's job

Sir: I was perplexed by Simon Blow's schoolmistressy review of my book To Noto (13 January) in which he is at great pains to explain how silly I am for not doing it his way. Perplexed, that is, until I heard that he had proposed to write a book on Sicily himself and now feels that my work makes his superfluous. But he should not feel this. I have written a very unusual travel book. Judging by his review, he was planning a pocket guide for victims of neurasthenia. There is room for both.
