People, scattered on the ground like bulbs, grown here complete in coloured scarf and coat, borne on a tide of blue-veined crocus float through the lawns, swirling about the pools and dark hanging coves of leafless trees, encroach where sugar-pink fragile flowers climb, draw back before the flooding lilac time maroons them, scattered on the ground like bulbs.
