Victory So, at last, it was Bannockburn. After fourteen years

the Calcutta Cup is back in Scotland and we can look the Sassenachs in the face again. It was a noble game won by a Scottish pack filled again with the fire and devil that had drained out of them at Cardiff. All were heroes, but two of them deserve a special mention. Telfer at No. 8 played a real blinder and as he is still very young may well become one of Scotland's immortals. Norman Bruce, hooking for Scotland for the thirty- first time at the age of thirty-one, stormed through the match like a rampageous eighteen-year-old. It is said to be his last match for Scotland be- cause he has been posted to North Borneo. North Borneo! Let me tell the Secretary of State for War that. if he wants another recruit from north of the border he had better make it nearer than that. There must be an English Selector in charge of postings at the War Office. And at fullback Stewart Wilson showed why the All Blacks rated him as the best fullback in Britain. Indeed there were moments in his play which reminded me clearly of Bob Scott, for my rugger.
