THE PRIME MINISTER.

'To THE EDITOR OF THR " SPECTATOR:1 Sia,—Your admirable article on the Prime Minister (in the Spectator of the 20th inst.) suggests the quotation of some verses previously applied to Mr. Asquith, but still more applicable in the circumstances of the present moment :-

" Ille, velut rapes vastum quae prodit in aequor, Obvia ventorum furiis expostaque ponto. Vim cunctam atque minas perfert caelique marisque Ipea immota manna"—(Aeneid, X., 693, &o.)
