WANKIE COLLIERY PROSPECTS.

Wankie Colliery shareholders approved this week of resolu- tions which have the effect of giving them a capital bonus of 661 per cent. The company, whose colliery interests are in Rhodesia, has already distributed interim dividends amounting to 12 per cent, on the old capitalisation as compared with ii per cent. last year. Sir Edmund Davis, the chairman, foreshadowed at the meeting on Monday that the final dividend may be 6 per cent. on the increased capital, which compares with 4 per cent. on the old capitalisation last year. In terms of the old capital, therefore, the company seems likely to pay the equivalent of 22 per cent. as against 15 per cent.
