Sta.—Your correspondent O.D.A. takes me by im- plication to task

for finding a good deal of smugness at AA meetings. His experience has evidently been more fortunate than mine.

But I would be sorry indeed if my single criticism were to be taken as a general aspersion upon AA and its members, among whom I have myself always found the greatest kindness, understanding and readiness to help.

AA's success with thousands of alcoholics is well enough known to need no underlining, That it happens not so far to have worked with me is neither here nor there. Perhaps there is still time—and I go on trying.—Yours faithfully, London
