POETRY, ENGLAND.

HUDSON and Charles have open hearts, And fine are they to see;

And I love the broad land of the folk That have been good to me.

But I must count the hours, the hours Till I shall see again The thundercloud on Wytham Wood, The grey Thames in the rain, The sun and cloud above the shire And the little fields so green, The little fields of England, With hedges all between.

I love the broad land and the folk That have been good to me, But oh ! the gracious earth that bore The men I long to see.

Oh ! lilley Mill and Cumnor Hill, And the streets of Oxford town, And the lad I saw go down the Broad In Khaki cap and gown.
