A turbid torrent of psycho-analysis is flooding contemporary thought. Occasionally

one comes across a good book on the subject of readable dimensions and reasonably free from tech- nicalities. Such is Mr. A. E. Baker's Psycho-analysis Raplained and Criticized (Sheldon Press, 3s. 6d.), which gives a short, sane, reasoned account of a subject about which the average intel- ligent person wishes to know something—but not too much, perhaps. Mr. Baker marshals his facts ably and disciplines an awkward squad of theories with tact. We do-not endorse all his opinions, but we do recommend his book.-. -
