Princess Margaret Rose The names Margaret Rose chosen for the

second daughter of the Duke of York seem to have pleased everybody. Margaret is distinctly Scottish. There was Saint Margaret, the Queen of Malcolm III; and it was through the marriage of Margaret, daughter of Henry VII, with James IV of Scotland that the way was prepared for the union of crowns and countries. As for Rose, it is agreeable to all who call them- selves English and prize the English emblem. Rose also happens to be the name of one of the new Princess's aunts.
