Hope : Reflections of an Optimist. By Arthur W. Hopkinson.

(Constable. 7s. 6d. net.) Many good people will read these meditations on " the psychology of holiness, happiness and health " with interest. He has some shrewd sayings : " Of all God's gifts, silence is one of the most precious and the most fruitful." " There is certainly a distinction of attitude between the Franciscan saint and a secretary of the Charity Organization Society."
