THE 10,000 COMMANDMENTS

SIR,—Dr. Allen is not quite accurate when in his article on Crown Pro- ceedings " The to,000 Commandments " he says that the reform of the present procedure has been " resisted and defeated by Law Officers of successive governments." Both Law Officers of the short-lived 1924 Ministry supported the reform and the Solicitor-General of that time was one of the promoters of the 1927 Bill drafted by the late Sir Willes Chitty.
