They occur at the end of his Eirchengeschichte im Grundriss, which in the English translation under the title Outlines of Church History has passed through at least eight editions. After expressing

his hope of a religious revival, he brings his volume to a cow elusion with the words : "All may yet be saved.. But one thing is certain : it is not our culture that will save us, but the Gospel alone."—I am, Sir, &c., B. P. W. F.
