The members of the American Congress were beginning to ar-

rive at Washington when the last accounts left New York, on the

• 2(1 instant. General JAcirsom has a decided majority in the House of Representatives; but in the Senate the opposition is most numerous. The money concerns of the country were in rather an unsettled state, owing to the recent difficulties between the Government and the United States Bank. These difficulties are said to be much exaggerated by the Opposition journals.

In the Georgian House of Representatives, the Nullifiers have had several trials of strength with the supporters of the supreme authority of the General Government, but have been always beaten en a division. The minority, however, is famidable both in num- bers and activity.
