We have heard on what we consider good authority, that

it is the intention of her Majesty to avail herself of the suggestions thrown out in Sir Harris Nicolas's admirable " History of the Orders of British Knighthood" for the revival of that branch of the Order of the Garter which was established in the reign of Richard the Second, and included the Ladies of the Knights. This would be a graceful and popular measure, and we trust, therefore, that there is a solid foundation for the rumour.— Vailed Service Gazette.
