BOOKS OF REFERENCE FOR 1913.

Pesaacas.—Berke's Peerage, Baronetage, and Knightage, 1913 (Harrison and Sons. .e2 2s.)—Here we have the seventy-fifth edition of this most elaborate of peerages, with close upon three thousand pages and information upon every title, including those "dating from the flood" and those created as late as the tenth of this month. We should as soon think of giving a recommendation to the Tower of London or the Habeas Corpus Act as to "Burke."

Debrett's Peerage, Baronetage, and Knightage, 1913. (Dean and Son. 31s. 6d. net.)—Scarcely less elaborate and famous is ",Debrett." It has, moreover, the considerable advantage of being of less monumental dimensions.—On a smaller scale, but none the less of very groat usefulness, are Doers Peerage, Baronetage, and Knightage, 1913 (Simpkin Marshall, 10s. 6d. net), and Whitaker's Peerage, 1913 (5s. net), both of which may be sure of retaining their popularity.
