OUR LABOUR GOVERNMENT

SLR,—Up to yesterday (November r9th) I had taken a fairly tolerant view of our new Labour Government. I reasoned that the passage of time must bring changes, coal in the earth should be State-owned and so forth. Then came the shock! American newspapers now quote an article from London stating that the British Labour Government intends to rescind the existing laws governing general strikes! In other words, the new Government now intends to Condone general strikesf Other people can do the arguing I shall cut mine short and simply say that I cannot conceive any more mischievous and destructive measure.
