A DOG AND A. MOTOR - CAR.

[To THE EDITOR or TM SPECTATOR."] Sie,—The incident narrated in the correspondence columns of the Spectator of January 7th is unusual, but not unique. I cannot personally vouch for the following incident, but I was told some considerable time ago by a friend that an Edinburgh doctor of his acquaintance, on arriving home one evening, found a dead dog hanging by its collar from his starting- handle. The owner of the dog was walking with it, and it disappeared mysteriously at a place where there seemed no possibility of its leaving the road. The heading of the letter in your columns at once recalled the incident to my mind, and I was very much interested to find that the incident to which it referred was so nearly similar.—I am, Sir, &c.,
