A GOOD GAS DIVIDEND.

The directors of the Gas Light and Coke Company may be congratulated upon the financial results for the past year. After paying a dividend making £5 Os. 8d. per cent. for the year, which is the same as for 1926, there is a balance carried over of £129,577, against only £64,647 a year ago. More- over, the outlook for this year seems to be a good one in view of the recent decline in the price of gas, as the company is entitled to increase its dividend by about ls. 4d. per cent. per annum for every reduction of 2d. per therm in the price of gas.
