The Westminster Bank is an exception to the general rule this year in that it has not reduced either its investments or its holding of bills. Investments, at ku2,012,995, showed an increase of £956,184; Bills at £51,781,303 were £7,040,023 higher. Advances were £11,118,217 higher at £136,454,623 and deposits rose by £977,642 to £368,855,148. Thus the ratio of advances to deposits was 2.9 per cent. higher at 37 per cent. The total assets increased by £1,441,664 to the record figure of £409,639,161.
