Tales of the Great and Brave, is a little work

intended for children, though not without some interest for persons of a riper age. It consists of notices of the most striking events in the lives of EDWARD the Black Prince, WALLACE, ROBERT BRUCE, JOAO; of Arc, RICHARD CCellr de Lion, CHARLES STUART the Pretender, NELSON, and NAPOLEON. The earlier lives are written without any nice inquiry into the morality of some of the exploits of their heroes ; which is set off by the application of a sterner rule to BONAPARTE. The book is made readable, and rather striking, by omitting or doubling-up the details of the life, and only dwelling upon the great events.
