SCOTLAND.

The proclamation, so long delayed, for the election of a Representative Peer of Scotland in room of the late Viscount Strathallan, appeared in last night's Gazette. The election is fixed for the 6th of August.

Mr. Deas has been appointed Solicitor-General for Scotland, in room of Mr. John Cowan, now raised to the bench of the Supreme Court in the room of the late Lord Dundrennan.
