ANGLO-PERSIAN OIL.

It is impossible to read the speech of Sir John Cadman, the Chairman, at the recent annual meeting of the Anglo-Persian Oil Company, without being impressed with the importance of the company and the vast extent of its operations. The annual Report had already shown an increase in the trading profit for the year of more than £1,200,000, with profits available for distribution amounting to £3,235,000. As a consequence of this excellent showing the dividend has been raised to 12f per cent., still leaving a balance of nearly £500,000 to be carried forward. In the course of his speech Sir John Cadman was able to report that most excellent relations existed between the Government of Iran and the company, while, having recently visited the various centres in which the company is operating, including Australia and Persia, the Chairman of the company gave some interesting accounts of the progress made in the matter of general developments.
